Alerts

National Health and Hospitals Reform Commission’s Interim Report – Submission of comment  on the report is due 16 March 2009.  GPSA will forward summary points and GPSA comment to Network members early the week of 9 March 2009 for feedback on final submission.

Aged Care Access Initiative – AGPN has confirmed that this program is to continue for two additional years, at the same funding levels, with no opportunity for carryover of funds from year one.  Network members participating in the program will be provided with further details and updates this month.

Mental Health Development and Liaison Officer Network – AGPN has confirmed that the Network roles will be extended an additional six months to 31 December 2009.

Indigenous Health – AGPN is conducting a survey in relation to current initiatives being undertaken in Indigenous Health.  The survey will be ready online in PHC RIS in April.

Program Updates

eHealth Reference Group – A draft GPSA Position Statement developed by Dr Oliver Frank on Electronic Communication of Clinical Information is circulated for feedback from the Network. GPSA welcomes your comments and endorsement of the GPSA position.   Please respond to Gary Holzer by 9 April 2009.

eHealth – Nathan Delbridge has secured a new position and will be leaving GPSA before the end of this month.  We are most disappointed to see him go, as he has been a real asset to the team.  Join us in thanking Nathan for his contribution to the Network and wishing him every success in his new role.
